This is funny because it’s so close to reality.

Its been a while (again) and there seems to be a lot of things that I’ve learned the past couple of months that I should be recording:

1st of which would be my search for a decent music streaming ala radio service for my phone. I’ve heard a lot about some of the more popular services, Pandora and Last.FM to name a few. Problem is, I live in the Philippines and those services are just limited for US residents which is a bummer for the rest of us in the world.

Then one day, an apple app appeared in Cydia: Grooveshark

There are tons of other useful features that I wouldn’t be posting here but basically, it has everything you need for a music search/radio/streaming website.

And yup, it’s so free!

Update: Server has been put down… Players have moved to Molten Private Server.

I’d been waiting for years for the most popular MMORPG in the planet to come to the Philippines and offer them based on our economic context. Yup, 15 dollars or so a month for us is a bit taxing… and even if you could afford it, your friends wouldn’t be able to (not everyone has credit cards here and they don’t just sell game time cards from any of the sari-sari stores btw.) Plus, it’s really hard to play alone on your neighborhood.

So last year or so I tried playing on alternative private servers. I found a lot that’s pretty messed up and quite a few modestly functional private servers. Of which one of them is wowscape, but they wiped out a lot of the high level characters just a couple months back which made us think of looking for some other place to play on…

After quite a while of looking for another place (and I can search quite well, believe me) I’ve found the perfect (ok, its at least the most decent) place where me and my friends could play the game for free, least bugged, constantly updated (weekly basis) and most especially rates aren’t messed up. That is if you’re looking to play the quest the official retail World of Warcraft is played, like most of us. You could find the game site and the instructions as to how to join on their website:

Memorizing can be cumbersome for me and in searching for a software that will generate flashcards I stumbled into this:

Memorizing does not have to be as hard as most people make it. The problem is that most people only know how to memorize by reading the same thing over and over again. In this post we are going to look at how the brain remembers and then show how to use that knowledge to come up with a method for memorizing verbatim text.  Any tip or trick that will improve your memory even slightly is well worth the effort.

Ever had the difficulty of wanting to paste previously copied something from your clipboard but the problem is that it has been overwritten by a new one. Try ditto or some other clipboard managers.

Have been taking notes with my cellphone through it’s stylus input. But recently been wondering how to write the ‘colon’ and some other special characters. Thought it was nonexistent, till i did some advanced googling:

There are a number of extended characters listed below. They are accessed by inserting the character (written from bottom to top of the text mode screen) before writing the extended character.
